The Pinch, the award-winning and internationally distributed literary journal of The University of Memphis, is celebrating the release of the new Spring 2010 issue, soon to hit bookstores. The Pinch Release Party will be held on Saturday, March 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wright Carriage House, located at 688 Jefferson in Memphis. Join local and national authors, artists, and photographers for an evening of refreshments and literary celebration. Featured readings will be given by contributors such as Sandy Longhorn.
The Pinch, formerly River City, is one of the oldest literary journals in the country and publishes fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, art, and photography. Sponsored by The University of Memphis and The Hohenberg Foundation, The Pinch is published biannually and sponsors a national contest in fiction and poetry each year. The 2010 Pinch Literary Awards will be judged by Allen Wier and Beth Ann Fennelly.
