Wine, Women & Shoes charity event to benefit Le Bonheur Children’s


Memphis, Tenn. – From great grapes to fancy footwear, Memphis ladies will find everything their hearts’ desire at the Wine, Women & Shoes charity events. For the second year, the national Wine, Women & Shoes event will bring fabulous shoes, great wine, amazing food. Proceeds from the event will benefit Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center. This year’s event is presented by Star Distributing, Inc.

Bring your favorite girlfriends to the Mercedes-Benz of Memphis (5389 Poplar Ave.) on Thursday, Jan. 28 to slip on great shoes and sip great wines. General admission begins at 5:30 p.m. for the auction, fashion show and the Sip-n-Shop Marketplace. A VIP reception and auction preview begins at 5 p.m.

The Sip-n-Shop Marketplace will include:
• Sip from the best wineries featuring: Eagle Eye Wines, The Gabrielle Collection, Caymus Vineyards, Cakebread Cellars, Groth Winery, Grgich Hills Estate, Silver Oak Cellars, Pretty Sally Vineyards, The Grateful Palate, MacRostie Winery, Vineyard Brands and King Estate Winery.
• Shop for the best in shoes and accessories from: Joseph, Peria, Crazy Beautiful, Strut Memphis, Breakaway Athletics and featuring national designers Angelo Anastasio and Gypsy Global Chi
• A delectable foray of food from Grille 83, the Half Shell, Equestria and others
• A truly “diva” driven fashion show featuring some of the cities most beautiful women showcasing the latest in fashionable footwear

Founded in 1952, Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center is the Mid-South’s first and only comprehensive pediatric medical facility. Every year Le Bonheur treats almost 140,000 children from across the country and throughout the world. Le Bonheur is home to one of the nation’s 10 busiest pediatric emergency departments and hosts one of the largest pediatric surgical brain tumor programs. Le Bonheur is building a new state-of-the art hospital. The $340-million facility is scheduled to open in 2010 and will significantly increase the space for patient care, research and teaching.
