Memphis Cook Convention Center Transforms into State’s Largest Life Support System for Women

Mayors Wharton and Herenton announce All About Women coming just in time for Mother’s Day.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – You know it’s going to be a good day when, in a single stop, you can try Tai Chi, repair a toilet, take care of all those nagging financial obligations (like setting up a living will, a serious budget and a plan of attack to improve your credit score), check your cholesterol and tend to your physical and spiritual health without spending a dime. That’s exactly what women can expect at the All About Women experience coming to the Memphis Cook Convention Center on Saturday May 9 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.

On May 9, women from every walk of life are encouraged to break free from their everyday obligations, grab their mothers, daughters, sisters and friends, and take advantage of the more than 100 different free services and activities geared especially for them.

“All About Women is not just an event, it’s an interactive experience that makes it easy for you to focus on the things you've been meaning to: stress, kids, job, home, finances, and most of all, your health and happiness,” said Sally Smallwood, All About Women founder. “It’s a one-stop shop for women, who, let’s face it, are so busy taking care of everyone else that they backburner their own health needs.”

Organizers are prepared for 10,000 participants. “We need All About Women more than any other region in the state and we can certainly benefit from all of the services provided,” says Barbara Trautman, Past President of the Memphis Medical Alliance Group.
