$30.00 per person ($25.00 if register before February 20) Teams of six

Alzheimer's Day Services of Memphis (ADS) is hosting its fourth annual Forget-Me-Not Trivia Night on Saturday, March 21, 2009, in the Great Hall of the Germantown Athletic Club. Funds from the evening will help ADS continue to provide a quality therapeutic activity program for those with Alzheimer’s and related disorders.
Trivia Night is a contest consisting of teams of six who answer trivia questions together. There are ten rounds of questions with ten questions each. Each team will not only participate in the trivia game but also in the table decoration contest. Some perks of the evening include a dessert bar, mulligans or “freebies” for sale, “big prizes,” and door prizes.
The theme of the evening this year is Holiday Celebrations. The teams will have a six foot table to decorate with their own interpretation of this year’s theme, wear costumes to complement their table, and have the option to bring dinner for the evening. Coletta’s will be selling pizza slices, wine and beer. It will be a fast-paced event during which trivia players can exercise their brains and nourish memories, two large components of the ADS mission.
Since January 1983, ADS has provided quality care for those living with this dreaded disease and support, education and relief for the caregivers and families. ADS operates two centers that are both open Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The cost of the daily program is over $70.00, while the participants are asked to pay $30.00 per day. ADS is a local, non-profit agency which is not affiliated with or supported by any national organization.
ADS thanks event sponsors Apple Grove, WKNO, Bluff City Jaguar/Land Rover, Carriage Court, Crossroads Hospice, Elect Home Care, Emergency Mobile Heath Care (EMHC), Malco Theatres, The Best Times, Visiting Angels, Belmont Village, and Delta Medical Center. The 17th Works of Heart Valentine Auction

Works of Heart Auction Works for Kids

(Memphis, TN) The 17th Works of Heart Valentine Auction on February 7 promises to inspire and entertain everyone who attends. With Kym Clark of Action News 5 as emcee, and remarkable works of art to bid on, Works of Heart is a great party. And it all benefits the Child Advocacy Center.
The heart-themed artwork is created by over 100 accomplished and emerging regional artists. For 17 years, more than 100 “heartists” are given a plain piece of heart-shaped wood as inspiration to create a work of art. The results are inventive and awe-inspiring. Artists include Dolph Smith, John McIntire, George Hunt, Valerie Berlin, David Mah, and John Robinette. Proceeds help provide child-friendly intervention for children who have been sexually abused or severely physically abused.
The event will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Memphis College of Art. Tickets are $50 and include complimentary wine, beer, and appetizers. The Works of Heart pieces will be on display to the public during the week prior to the auction, February 2-6.
