Junior League of Memphis Crystal Kaleidoscope Feb. 28, 2009 at 6 p.m.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Junior League of Memphis (JLM) is hosting their Crystal Kaleidoscope fund-raising event on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. at The Junior League of Memphis’ Community Resource Center, 3475 Central Avenue. Tickets are on sale now through Feb. 14.
Tickets are $150 per person, $1,200 for tables of eight and $1,500 for tables of 10. Prime seating is available and seating is limited.
All proceeds from the event will help to continue the JLM’s 87-year commitment to supporting women and children in the community. Current JLM projects include partnerships with Hope House Day Care Center, MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association), The Church Health Center, Memphis City Schools and The Mid-South Food Bank, among others.
The one-of-a-kind event will feature a Winter Supper Set in White with dinner by acclaimed Chef Andreas Kisler of The Peabody Hotel. The event’s chairman is Nicole Haney, owner of Nicole Perry Fine Art.
The only party of its kind held at the JLM’s home, the event promises to be elegant and unique. Guests will arrive at 6 p.m. to valet parking on Central Avenue. The evening will begin with guests arriving to enjoy cocktails and passed appetizers in the home and in the front gardens while browsing through silent auction items until 7:30 p.m.
Chef Kisler has planned a gourmet dinner that includes assorted bruschetta with tomato and basil, olive tapenade with mushrooms and vichyssoise shooters. The main courses include hearts of romaine with merlot spiced poached pear and stilton cheese dressing followed by a dual entr_e of seared filet mignon, roasted tilapia, quenelle of Sun dried Tomato Risotto. Also asparagus, grilled vine-ripened tomato wedges, mushroom Sauce will be served along with Peabody rolls, artisinal breads, cake, coffee, decaffeinated coffee and tea.
Guests will enter the white silk-lined tent to be escorted to their tables for dinner. A well-apportioned live auction will follow dinner.
Partygoers will step back in time to an elegant era with music from New
Orleans saxophonist Brian “Breeze” Cayolle and Memphis Rhythm Band playing during cocktails, dinner and for dancing. There will be many wonderful finds at the live and silent auctions.
