Ahoy maties! It’s time for some swashbuckling fun at the 3rd annual COMEC Treasure Hunt. Chart your course for the Pink Palace Museum, which will be turned into a hunting ground for stolen pirate booty on Sunday, June 7.
The event will be held from 1-5 p.m. The treasure hunt contest starts at 2 p.m.
All the proceeds will benefit the Commission on Missing and Exploited Children, the region’s AMBER Alert coordinator.
The family-friendly fundraiser will offer more than just hidden loot. Little buccaneers will be treated to performances by various local groups and entertainers including Studio B and Collierville Arts Academy. Bring your cameras for photo opportunities with lookalike characters “Backyard Friends” from In Character Productions and get your face painted by Party with Pickles, the party artist. There will also be a kids’ fun fair with games and vendors on the lawn of the mansion plus a showcase of family-friendly businesses.
Treasure hunters will not leave empty handed. There will be lots of grub, kiddie spirits, prizes, giveaways plus a silent auction for kids and adults which will feature items for the entire family.
The event sponsors include Wal-Mart and Memphis Auto Auction.
COMEC is the only non-profit missing children’s organization in Tennessee. COMEC helps find missing children, provides parents with important information on protecting their children from Internet predators and offers drug testing programs.
Tax deductible tickets for the event are $10 per person in advance and $15 at the door. Children under 2 get in free. To purchase your tickets call Chestine Bradley at 405-8441 or email COMECEVENTS@gmail.com.
